Private Client Strategies at the Dawn of Fiscal Transparency

Andreas Neocleous & Co LLC and Academy & Finance, the leading Swiss producer of conferences and seminars in the field of finance, particularly private wealth management, are again joining forces to organise the two-day conference “Private Client Strategies at the Dawn of Fiscal Transparency”.

The inaugural conference, which took place in February 2015, was attended by a wide range of businesspeople, professionals and senior decision-makers from around the world in the fields of banking, finance and law, and the success of the conference and participant demand have resulted in it becoming an annual event.

This year’s conference will take place on 19 and 20 April, at the newly refurbished Four Seasons hotel in Limassol. It will cover topics including:

  • automatic exchange of information, its practical implications for clients, bankers, trust companies and corporate service providers and preparation for the new regime;
  • the revised EU Parent-Subsidiary Directive and the new EU anti-tax avoidance package, announced in January 2016, and their likely impact;
  • the latest developments regarding the OECD’s Action Plan on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting and their impact on tax planning structures;
  • recent legislative changes in Russia;
  • sanctions imposed against Russia and by Russia, and necessary compliance measures; and
  • the likely nature and effects of the UK’s proposed reforms to the taxation of non-domiciles.

There will be an expert line-up of speakers from Andreas Neocleous & Co LLC, including Elias Neocleous, head of the firm’s corporate and commercial department, from other law firms including Dechert and Herbert Smith Freehills, from professional associations and from service providers, as well as from the Cyprus tax authorities.
